f094James Pendennis Holman was born in Falmouth, Cornwall on 1 July 1804. He married f095Elizabeth Beswetherick on 6 May 1826 at Lanlivery Rural, Cornwall. They had 7 children. Elizabeth died in 1855 (1855 quarter 4, Bodmin, folio 5c page ???). James married f096Mary Ann Voss on 28 October 1858 (4th. quarter folio 5c page 149) in Bodmin. They had 3 sons and 1 daughter. In April 1828 James was appointed as Gate Porter at Cornwall County Gaol in Bodmin at a salary of £40 per annum. In 1841 he was a gate porter and turnkey and living at the prison. In 1861 and 1871 he was a debter's warder living at the prison. In 1881 and 1891 he was living at Rose Cottage, Pool Street, Bodmin and he was a retired superior prison warder. He died on 22 October 1896 (4th. quarter folio 5c page 53) at Rose Cottage aged 92 years.
