He was married to n546 Henrietta Gordon, born on 7 May 1758. They had 1 daughter, n547 Henrietta Taylor, and two sons: n548 James Taylor, born before 1785 and n549 Robert Cunninghame Taylor born in 1792 and died in 1879 (1879 quarter 1, Maidstone, folio 2a page 431) who in 1826 was married to n550 Sarah Pycroft, who died in 1858.

n562 Frederick Henry Taylor was son of Robert and Sarah Taylor. He was born on 31 March 1844 and died in 1931. On 15 November 1871 he was married to n561 Esther Dumas Broderick. They had a son n563 Claude Harold Taylor born on 8 July 1882 and died in 1967 in Kelowna, B.C. Canada. In 1919, in India, he was married to n282 Margaret Frances Simkins born on 13 February 1894 (1894 quarter 1, Nottingham, folio 7b page 298) and died in 1980 in Kelowna.

They had two sons: n749 Thomas Kirkby, born on 9 March 1695, and n750 Matthew Kirkby, born on 28 January 169?; and 4 daughters: n751 Margaret Kirkby, born on 8 December 1689; n752 Elizabeth Kirkby, born on 9 October 1694; n753 Ann Kirkby, born on 30 July 1709; and n742 Mary Kirkby, born on 16 November 1697.
